comet

at last!
the comet of the sea
washes upon the shore
and i hand myself a closer eye
ignoring the heat of half the hate
of the world's new order
inside...
past an egg's crack
i witness every thing
history burning the witness
the future ensnaring the witless
the rise and fall of city and state
hopelessly rebuilding
like ants to the pile
and the comet now cooling
like a screen from the television
shows other worlds
on other days
i stand back and grasp at empty beach
what my looking eye saw i cannot take
those other men
not human, but like one
were not fighting or shedding blood
nor laughing at those who cried for help
my skull could not hold these ideas
and i ran back to where things made sense

Man! I REALLY like this poem! Seriously. Great imagery! I likes me poems with imagery. And it's a good length, too!
